Shoppers were shocked yesterday morning to see a woman crouching down and defecating on a busy city centre street.
To make matters worse, one unwary pedestrian – thought to be either a child or someone who had been glued to their mobile phone – had stepped in the unpleasant mess and tracked it further along the street.
One shopper, who did not want to be named, told Wales Online he was “disgusted” after coming across the woman at around 10am on Tuesday, March 19.
Even worse, he said, despite him having told a council warden about it, the vile ordure was still there some 90 minutes later.
The man, who was out with his daughter shopping, said: “We had parked in Oxford Street and turned onto the street to go down to the bus station, when we saw a woman defecating on the street on the corner, in front of the pub there.
“My daughter saw it too and was so agitated, she spoke to a council warden in the indoor market.”
The man, who lives in Swansea, added: “About an hour and a half later, we passed the same place and it was still there.
“Someone had stepped in it – probably a child. I’m just disgusted.”
This seems to be something of a trend in Swansea. Just last week a woman was photographed doing her business on the city’s seafront. The issue has been blamed on the closure of public toilets.
The person who took the picture said: “Whilst walking on the beach this morning at approximately 9am we see a woman with no inhibitions walk down the steps and s**t on the beach.
“On finishing she rejoined her friend and casually continued their walk along the promenade. And to think they ban dogs!!!”
